Homemade Hot Sauce – simple!

When looking for an easy hot sauce recipe that would put my Nioi Hawaiian Chili pepper tree to work, this one was the ticket. But beware. A dab will do ya.


  • 1/4 cup Nioi or any hot pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • white distilled vinegar to cover

image_4Blend everything together with an immersion blender or traditional blender. Place in a glass jar and cover with a piece of breathable fabric and secure with a rubber band. Let sit for ~2-3 days. Vinegar will separate from the chili garlic mixture. Remove the cloth, skim the extra vinegar from the sauce and replace with a regular fitting lid. Enjoy!
