Pollinator Forest

19905179_1914684172153246_5654917562712912081_nThe Pollinator Forest in the Youth Garden at the Community Farm was designed and planted in the summer of 2017 as a part of our Kaua`i Ag Internship Program, built by local agriculture interns, Kupu members, and community volunteers.

Plants and trees in the youth garden include a variety of native and non-native pollinator attracting and supporting plants, including:

  • Kou – cordia subcordata
  • Ohia Lehua – metrosideros polymorpha
  • Gardenia – gardinia brighamii
  • Mamaki – Piptrus albidus
  • Hibiscus – hibiscus waimeae
  • Hibiscus – hibiscus clayi
  • Akia – Wikstroemia uva ursi
  • Naupaka – Scaveola sericea
  • Ilima – sida fallax
  • Uki Uki – dianella sandwiceisis
