The Pollinator Forest in the Youth Garden at the Community Farm was designed and planted in the summer of 2017 as a part of our Kaua`i Ag Internship Program, built by local agriculture interns, Kupu members, and community volunteers.
Plants and trees in the youth garden include a variety of native and non-native pollinator attracting and supporting plants, including:
- Kou – cordia subcordata
- Ohia Lehua – metrosideros polymorpha
- Gardenia – gardinia brighamii
- Mamaki – Piptrus albidus
- Hibiscus – hibiscus waimeae
- Hibiscus – hibiscus clayi
- Akia – Wikstroemia uva ursi
- Naupaka – Scaveola sericea
- Ilima – sida fallax
- Uki Uki – dianella sandwiceisis
