For Farmers
- COVID-19 Farm Food Safety by CTAHR Cooperative Extension
- Ensure all staff and volunteers are healthy and have not had any possible exposure to infected persons.
- Have adequate staffing levels so that those handling money and those handling produce are not the same person.
- If vending at market, cancel sampling activities and pre-package/portion produce to eliminate touching by consumers.
- Consider pre-packed CSA boxes or subscription ordering online.

Food Safety Tips For Consumers

- Self-quarantine if you are starting to feel sick
- Practice good hygiene (wash hands often, don’t touch your face, cover your coughs and sneezes)
- Avoid touching produce in displays that you aren’t going to purchase
- Wash all produce thoroughly
- Clean and disinfect areas you use regularly (home, car, workstation, etc.)
