FT Food Hub Intern (Lihue)

Our team is looking for a new intern to help our nonprofit organization continue to increase local food production and access on Kaua‘i! This is a 5 to 6 month internship position starting in Oct/Nov 2022 for those interested in gaining experience in food systems work.

We are seeking passionate, high energy, and enthusiastic field and administrative intern to gain experiences in program management, administrative support, marketing and outreach, packing/driving, and more. The right person and characteristics are more important to us than your experience on paper, and we’re willing to develop an internship experience that fits the interests and availability of the right people.

We have a variety of active programs focusing on local food distribution, farm to school, and farmer support – and we have a lot of growth ahead as we build our new food hub facility in Moloaʻa. The next 12 months we’ll have programs helping minority farmers start chicken farms, distributing food boxes to keiki and kūpuna in need, managing our local food e-commerce outlets, getting local food into our schools, and more!

Full-time Monday-Friday internship position includes $14/hr + benefits for 5-6 months through the ‘Āina Corps program. We’re very interested in finding interns who may be interested in staying with us after the internship with a promotion too!

To apply, send a resume and a note on why you’re interested in the internship to [email protected].
