Food Hub Finance & eCommerce Administrator

About Us:

Founded in 2006, Mālama Kaua’i is a community-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that focuses on increasing local food production and access for Kaua‘i. We do this through a lens of resilience and sustainability, which leverages workforce and economic development efforts, partnerships and innovative programs to grow community capacity. 

Our food hub programs support commercial, institutional, and consumer buyers all over Kaua‘i in purchasing local food through kauailocalfood.com. We currently purchase from 126 farmers, ranchers, and food producers across the island to support the growth and sustainability of our islandʻs local food system.

The Job:

This full-time position, located at our temporary food hub in Lihue, includes handling the key back office tasks of our food hub programs including eCommerce system management and overseeing the financial day-to-days related to sales, vendor billing, and SNAP/DA BUX transactions. Reports to Executive Director and oversees intern(s). Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Loading and managing weekly inventory for commercial and consumer purchasing
  • Preparing paperwork for in-field teams including vendor pick lists, customer packing lists, delivery route sheets, etc.
  • Auditing and filing weekly vendor invoices, and submitting check requests
  • Completing paperwork for weekly SNAP/EBT and DA BUX transactions, including monthly reports and billing 
  • Providing ongoing technical support to in-field teams, administration and customers as needed
  • Submitting monthly revenue allocations to appropriate accounts (sales, merchandise, donations, bag sponsorships, etc.)
  • Track KPIs and analyze data to guide food hub programs to success

We are seeking a high performer with the following:

  • Experience managing complex software, such as bookkeeping systems, CRMs, websites or e-commerce platforms
  • Must be able to swim in spreadsheets and numbers with speed and accuracy
  • Strong spreadsheet and data analysis abilities, in both Microsoft and Google
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working with team and customers
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously while remaining attentive to details
  • A passionate and results-oriented work style, with a natural desire for ongoing improvement
  • A flexible and positive attitude committed to improving our food system

Pay & Benefits:

Pay is TBD, dependent upon skills and experience. Full-time staff also receive a benefits package that includes 10 paid holidays, 2 weeks paid time off, and a no-cost medical insurance plan that includes health, dental, vision and massage/chiropractic.
