Jeffrey Mikulina has been the Director of the 5,100-member Hawaii chapter of the Sierra Club since 1999.
Today we talk about Jeff's current push for global warming awareness and the broader topic of moving from awareness to action; how to really make a difference when it comes to sustainability issues.
Mikulina as part a coalition groups lobbied aggressively for the passage of the Legacy Lands Act during the 2005 session of the Hawaii State Legislature. The Legacy Lands Act has since been signed into law. Mikulina has also has been a strong supporter of the Hawaii Bottle Bill and the City & County of Honolulu Curbside Recycling.
The Sierra Club and Public Access Shoreline Hawaii pushed the Hawaii State Department of Land and Natural Resources into setting shoreline boundaries rules that better protect public lands.
