A sustainable Kaua`i where the `aina (land) is healthy, people enjoy a high quality of life, the sense of community is strong, and culture is respected and perpetuated.
To malama (take care of) Kaua`i and the people who call Kaua`i home. Rooted in the core value of aloha `aina (love and connection to the land), we advocate, educate, and drive action towards a sustainable Kaua`i.
Areas of prime concern include food and energy self-sufficiency, economic security, community centered smart growth, preservation and protection of the environment, strengthening community engagement, and the perpetuation of Native Hawaiian and other island cultures
Malama Kaua'i works at the community level (bottom up) by seeding and supporting sustainable, community projects, educating about sustainability and supporting sustainability practices in the home and workplace. Malama Kaua'i is also working at the island level (top down) to engage and rally groups around sustainable initiatives, create and support sustainable policies and perpetuate Hawaiian traditions related to our vision.
